Danyelle Foster honorably served 23 years in the Illinois Army National Guard, retiring in 2011 with the rank of First Sergeant—the highest-ranking noncommissioned officer at the company level. Her final assignment was with the 933rd Military Police Company at Fort Sheridan, Illinois, where she led up to 200 troops. Known for her integrity, discipline, and unwavering commitment to her soldiers, she built a legacy of principled leadership and a deep duty to serve others.
Continuing her service beyond the military, Danyelle is a dedicated board member of DOLL INC., a nonprofit organization providing housing, essential services, and life-skills training to veterans and their families.
In addition to her military career, Danyelle served a distinguished 24-year tenure with the Illinois State Police, retiring as a lieutenant. She held various leadership roles across the agency. She also served as a two-term President of the Illinois Association of Black Law Enforcement Officers and remains an active member of the National Black State Troopers Coalition. In 2025, Danyelle was selected and currently serves on the Military Economic Development Committee under Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana’s office.
